Post Error When An Unregistered User Post

Hi!

I was writing a post in a forum that doesn't need the user to be registered, and when I tried to send it, the next error appeared:

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]
Couldn't get mail server response codes

DEBUG MODE

Line : 117
File : smtp.PHP

The message is sent, but I don't want that error to happend everytime.

PD: The email sending between users is disabled, there isn't any SMTP server, and Users are enabled by the administrator, not by email.

THX

Do you have "Use SMTP Server for email" set to No?  ACP>>Configuration>>Server

Emails between users might be disabled, but users can still be sent a notification email of a response to their post

If you are running this in a local server, you need to configure your server to run SMTP, otherwise it won't work.

If you use this option on an online server you shouldn't get any error (if the SMTP options are configured properly).

I think Karadura just wants to use it without sending emails at all... I think this might be arising because there is no php mail() function, but its strange that it tries to use smtp when the option is disabled, since includes/emailer.php checks for that option in board_config...

Anyway, if you explicitly want to no emailing at all, you can use these attached scripts. Rename the old ones first. These are scripts for posting, with all calls to send & build emails removed. Another problem may arise with emails notification for pms... but we'll take one step at a time

Ok it worked that time... ? Maybe the new ctracker version checks for the word "script" in a new post, and if theres a file also being uploaded... it triggers a potential exploit...

Post SOLVED: Error When An Unregistered User Post

Ok, I finally found the way (and it's a few idiot, but but I'm noob at this, xd).

The troubble was that I had not any email server installed in my PC, but now I have installed it, have filled all fields at the forum, and now there are no more errors.

Anyway, emails aren't still received by the users (I have tried all, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc, but no one receives it), but I think that has no solution.

This is the email server I have used: "ArgoSoft Mail Server Pro", hosted at: www.argosoft.com/mailserver .

Thanks for help, anyway!!
