I think this topic is more OffTopic "English Chit Chat" than General Support ;-)
EDIT: Topic moved and you can find here another discussion about hosting http://www.icyphoenix.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4152

It can be a little expensive. I use the 1&1 Developer package.

thanks.. i shall have a read

update...
great if you are in the US...
but in the UK you do not seem to get the same for your money...
http://order.1and1.co.uk/xml/order/...top&__lf=Static
really weird even if you sign up for the US servers they redirect you back to the Uk ones..
Think i will stay where I am for now... plus I have a resellers account and it only cost unlimited space and bandwidth. (fair usage applies obviously...) and servers are in the US...

Host's are not going to hold you by the hand, and are probably reluctant to involve themselves with every or any programme that doesn't have a self-installer designed to install itself with cPanel etc.
Why don't you get a host of your choosing, and ask someone here if they will install IP for you. But don't expect them to baby-sit it for you either. ;)
Maybe you want to ask if someone will install it for you before you go ahead with getting or changing your website. :(

It is not my intention through any post to ask people to hold my hand. If I can have a go at doing it success / fail that is how you learn. I will explain further.
I have been charged a large amount of money to swap a BB2 to BB3 Board, and I mean a fortune. :( :(
I have thought about that option of asking somebody but who, as stated PM's is not the right protocol and not the way to ask advice. The information sought after should be open to the board to view by others and not via the back door.
With being a newbie as it were to this community of which I am eager to experience further , it is difficult to ask questions without embarresment. What appears to be a basic concern for me is not to others , and is the question asked worth answering. The IP board seems a very open and comprehensive board and I hope to learn from the board.
There are several questions I want to ask but unless I can experience the working of the IP Board will find it difficult.
That was the only reason for the original hosting question Sorry!

PM's are fine if you first ask the open question on the board:
"Will someone be prepared to upload and install IP to my server, if I PM the ftp and cPanel details" ?
Because I'm nervous about doing it myself. ;)
Add my name to the list of those willing to do it! :P

Thank you for your response.PM sent
Can you run two forums on the same server. Using one as a test site?

You can have as many forums that your hosting package allows, each with the same base URL (mysite.com) but each with a different folder and database:
mysite.com/forum
mysite.com/my-other-forum
mysite.com/myplace etc, etc.....
And BTW, there is a "reply" button at the bottom of the codebox - please use it and not quote everything. ;)
