Subject: Re: I Need To Optimize CPU Usage Of Posted_img_thumbnail.php
I would like to know your opinion about the changes that I've tried:
Deleted the thumbnails in the posts which appear in the portal. Before there were 14 images, now if the user wants to see the image, he can visit the link to the image
"Thumbnails quality in Album (1 - 100)": Before was 85, now it is configured to 65.
"Thumbnails quality in topics": Before was 80, now, it is configured to 65.
I've Disabled some "resizing" options:
- Resize images in signatures
- Resize attached images
Thumbnails cache enabled in posting
Finally, the number of rows and columns of thumbnails showed in Albums and Personal Galleries (before it was 5 rows and 4 columns, now I've changed it to 4 rows and 3 columns).
Should I change thumbnails size? I'm thinking on configure a smaller size of thumbnails. Is that a good idea?
Are all this changes enough? Can anybody suggest anything else? Thanks

I think those changes in the quality doesn't take any effects in the way of reducing the amount of memory that the php file needs.
disabling resizing features will be good for optimizating the performance.
Cache will also be good
Decreasing the number of rows and columns only will take effect if the viewer gets boring on viewing so many pages, so he/she will see less pictures, but every time the php program is called no changes in the amount of memory needed will take...

I've disabled all the features which was using the script image_thumbnail.php (signatures, posts, and closed temporary the album).
Now all is well with these settings, but if I use another time more resources than the limit, the host will close my account. :(
I will open the album the next week... I'll configure the Album to show fewer images (2 rows and 2 columns), and I'll ask the host provider about the CPU usage periodically.
